Local chief executives who fail to implement public health and safety measures in vaccination sites could be liable for dereliction of duty, Malacañang said on Thursday.

Palace spokesman Harry Roque issued the warning after photos and videos of Filipinos flocking to vaccination centers made the rounds on social media ahead of the Metro Manila enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Huwag naman po natin gawing super spreader events ang ating bakunahan because ang bakuna po will save lives – it should not endanger lives,” he added.

Instances of overcrowding were reported in several Metro Manila cities, including Manila and Las Piñas.
