Exercising outdoors is allowed in areas under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), Malacanang said on Monday.
“Importante po talaga ang exercise. Hindi po kayo pinagbabawalan,” Palace spokesman Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.
However, those exercising should not go out of their communities or outside their barangays.
They should also avoid flocking in common exercising spots such as Luneta Park.
The government has reimposed ECQ, the most stringent form of quarantine, in the Greater Manila Area due to a surge in Covid-19 cases, effective March 29 to April 4, with a 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew.
Public transport
Roque also said public transport would not be impeded by the ECQ, even though trips considered “non-essential” were prohibited.
John Ezekiel J. Hirro
