The Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD) has prepared P890 million worth food packs and standby aid for families affected by typhoon ‘Quinta,’ Malacañang said on Monday.
“As of Oct. 25, 2020, ang DSWD po ay mayroon na pong stockpiles kasama na rito ang food packs at standby funds amounting to P890,596,116.79. Ang mga ito ay nasa DSWD Central Office at iba’t ibang field offices ng ahensiya,” Palace spokesman Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.
In a DZRH interview, Roque assured that help was on the way for the typhoon victims.
“Doon sa mga nasalanta ng bagyo, huwag po kayong mag-alala, darating na po ang tulong ninyo,” he said.
In the weather bureau’s 5 p.m. update on Monday, only Batangas, Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island, Oriental Mindoro, Calamian Islands and the extreme northern portion of Antique (Caluya) remained under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1.
More than 2,800 families have been evacuated in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol and the Cordillera Administrative Region as of Monday, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
