The Department of Education (DepEd) said that 756,083 poll watchers will be deployed for the May 9, 2022 elections.

DepEd Undersecretary Alain Pascua said during a press conference that around 90% of 647,812 of the total number are personnel from the department itself.

“The total poll workers that will be mobilized and deputized by the Comelec is about 756,083 poll workers. And among that, the DepEd poll workers will account to about 90%—647,812,” he said.

Among the DepEd personnel, Pascua said 319,317 will serve in electoral boards (EB); 200,627 EB support staff; 38,989 DepEd supervisor officials; (DESO); 87,162 DESO support staff; and 1,717 board of canvassers.

A separate group, the DepEd Election Task Force, was also formed to meet the concerns of teachers and schools during the elections.
