The Philippines on Monday night welcomed the arrival of over 300,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.

The plane carrying the shots landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at past 10 p.m.

The 301,860 Pfizer doses were donated by the US government through the Covax facility.

The Philippines has received 123,560,200 doses to date.

In his “Talk to the People” address on Monday, Duterte said the Philippines had administered over 70 million vaccine doses.

This means that about 50 million jabs had yet to be deployed.

The country will have a three-day national vaccination drive from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 to increase its vaccine throughput before the Christmas season.
