The Philippines on Thursday night received 1,082,250 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.

The doses were procured by the national government.

The country has ordered 60 million Pfizer doses to date.

The first 40 million doses from the US manufacturer are expected to start arriving in 2022.

The remaining 20 million will be used as booster shots once they arrive.

To date, the country has received 146,490,170 Covid-19 vaccine doses from different manufacturers.

More than 37.3 million Filipinos have completed their Covid-19 vaccinations as of Dec. 2, while 52,457,877 have yet to receive their second doses.
