A total of 1,024,521 voter registrations were recorded by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) as of Jan. 13.

The polling body opened the latest schedule of voter registration on Dec. 12 and is scheduled until the end of January.

“Based on the last update on registration as of January 13, 2023, the running total of registration applications is already at 1,024,521, which we expect to significantly increase as we include the final output of last week, as well as the still ongoing reception of applications,” said Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco.

Laudiangco added that the numbers do not reflect the total number of new voters from the Register Anywhere Project. The said program, which aims to allow the public to register in places other than their residence from Dec. 17, 2022 to Jan. 25, 2023, has already secured 3,992 registrations as of Jan. 15.
