The OCTA Research Team on Tuesday noted a decrease in the growth rate of Covid-19 in Metro Manila, claiming the recent surge in cases in the capital region could have already peaked.

In a tweet, OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David said the region’s indicators showed a slowing down of the growth in cases.

“The Covid-19 wave in the NCR may be close to peaking (or may have already peaked), based on a slowing of the growth rate to 32 percent. Trends will be clearer by next week,” he said.

On July 4, growth rate in Metro Manila was 57 percent.

Reproduction number also decreased from 1.59 to 1.47, David said.

Metro Manila is under Alert Level 1 until July 15.

As of July 12, the region has 6,232 active Covid-19 cases. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
