Metro Manila’s Covid-19 cases hit a new peak since early August on Sept. 25, the OCTA Research team said on Monday.

OCTA fellow Guido David said the 1,600 new Covid-19 cases recorded in the region on Sept. 25 exceeded the August peak of 1,502 cases.

David also noted an increase in positivity rate and reproduction rate inthe region.

“The positivity rate rose from 15.7 percent to 18.5 percent while the reproduction number increased from 1.21 to 1.30,” he said.

Healthcare utilization however remained low at 36 percent, he added.

Metro Manila has more than 12.5 million fully vaccinated individuals as of Sept. 25.

It has 15,489 active cases, almost half of the country’s total, which stands at 37,082 as of Sept. 26. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
