The number coding scheme for private and public vehicles has been lifted starting Friday, March 13, 2020, in Metro Manila, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ordered.

MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago said the number coding scheme is lifted “until further notice.”

The suspension of the number coding scheme was part of Metro Manila’s “community quarantine” status to contain the spread of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Moreover, land, domestic air, and domestic sea travel to and from Metro Manila will be suspended from March 15, 2020 to April 14, 2020 subject to daily review by the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) on COVID-19.   (RJ Espartinez)
