The Philippines will no longer require fully vaccinated travelers and returning overseas Filipinos to undergo facility-based quarantine upon arrival, Malacañang said on Friday.

In a virtual presser, acting Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles said travelers would only be required to present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to their departure from the country of origin.

“Upon arrival, they shall no longer be required to observe mandatory facility-based quarantine but instead shall self-monitor for any sign or symptom for seven days with the first day being the date of arrival,” he said.

The new policy will take effect on Feb. 1, 2022, Nograles said.

Accepted proofs of vaccination are as follows:

  • World Health Organization International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis
  • VaxCertPH
  • national state digital certificate of the foreign government which has accepted VaxCertPH under a reciprocal arrangement unless otherwise permitted by the IATF

Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated individuals will be required to present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to departure from the country of origin, and then undergo facility-based quarantine until the release of their negative RT-PCR test taken on the fifth day.

Nograles also announced that starting Feb. 10, fully vaccinated individuals from non-visa countries will be allowed to enter the Philippines. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
