The government will open on June 15, 2020 the portion of the elevated toll road that will directly link Navotas City to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and cut travel time from Manila to Quezon City.

Public Works Secretary Mark Villar made the announcement after Wednesday’s final inspection of the project, called the C3-R10 Section of NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10.

“The completion of the 2.6-kilometer new section will provide direct access between R10 in Navotas City and NLEX,” he said in a statement. “Travel time from Manila to Quezon City will be reduced to only 15 to 20 minutes.”

The project extends the 5.65-kilometer stretch of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 running through Karuhatan in Valenzuela City, Governor Pascual Avenue in Malabon City, and 5th Avenue/C3 Road in Caloocan City.

It will allow motorists to avoid the chaotic Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and Balintawak Toll Plaza.

It is expected to benefit private motorists and cargo truckers going to and from the Port of Manila and NLEX.

The new stretch has three exit off-ramps — Dagat-Dagatan Ramp to Malabon City, Segment 10-C3 Ramp to Caloocan City, and C3-R10 Ramp to Navotas City. (Jojo Mangahis)
