The newly appointed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, has formed his command group with the addition of Lt. Gen. Dionardo Carlos, PNP said on Saturday.

Carlos, former PNP director for Integrated Police Operations in the Visayas and PNP spokesman, was appointed chief of the directorial staff, fourth in command in the PNP hierarchy.

Lt. Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz was elevated to the position of deputy chief for administration, second in command, while Police Lt. Gen. Israel Ephriam Dickson was appointed deputy chief for operations, third in command.

Eleazar was officially installed as PNP chief on Friday, May 8, replacing Gen. Debold Sinas, who retired.

Eleazar, Vera Cruz, and Dickson are all part of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Hinirang” Class of 1987.

Carlos, who is a member of the PMA “Maringal” Class of 1988, will supervise the operations of the 10 PNP directorial staff offices. Charlene Grace Lao
