Netflix returned to this year’s all virtual AnimeJapan 2021, premiering around 40 new original anime titles this year — to showcase its diversifying slate and fan-favorite voice cast for fans in Japan and around the world.

During the virtual stage event, Netflix announced the upcoming worldwide release of “Record of Ragnarok,” an anime adaptation of the immensely successful manga of the same name, which will be premiering in June 2021.

Comedic and slice-of-life series titles “The Way of the Househusband” will also be released on April 8 and “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” will be premiering in the latter part of the year.

Netflix also teased fans with upcoming projects “Yasuke,” which will be released on April 29, and “Eden,” which will premiere on May 27. It revealed a new trailer and the launch date for “Eden” as well as a special artwork by Yasuke’s character designer Takeshi Koike.

Netflix said both projects are brand-new stories brought to life by international creators, further strengthening Netflix’s ambitions to diversify its lineup of original anime by working with top creators from both in and outside of Japan.

Japanese voice talents Kenjiro Tsuda of “The Way of the Househusband,” Marika Kono of “Eden” and Toshiyuki Morikawa of “RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness” joined the event. Jade Veronique V. Yap
