The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday reported that typhoon “Neneng” has caused P366 million in agricultural damage as of Wednesday morning.

In a situation report, the NDRRMC said the amount covered agricultural damage in the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Cagayan Valley sustained the biggest agricultural loss (P354,449,524.78), folllowed by Ilocos Region (P7,687,525.38) and CAR (P3,921,190).

The NDRRMC said that 27,641.21 metric tons of agricultural goods were affected by the typhoon.

More than 14,500 farmers and fisherfolk were affected by “Neneng,” it added.

Affected commodities include rice, corn, high-value crops, poultry and livestock.

According to the NDRRMC, 50,248 families composed of 175,275 individuals from 434 barangays were affected by the typhoon. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
