The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Friday reported that more than one million individuals have yet to return to their homes as of Nov. 4 following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng.”

Of the total, the NDRRMC said 123,024 individuals were scattered across 1,186 evacuation centers nationwide.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has placed Regions IV-A (Calabarzon), V (Bicol), VI (Western Visayas) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) under a state of calamity due to “Paeng.”

In its latest report, the NDRRMC said “Paeng” has killed 154 individuals.

Infrastructure damage due to the severe tropical storm was estimated at P2.9 billion, while agriculture damage was estimated at P2.7 billion.

Calabarzon sustained P1 billion in infrastructure damage, while Bicol Region suffered the most agriculture damage at P859 million. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
