The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has preemptively evacuated a total of 336 individuals or 97 families in Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon due to Super Typhoon Karding.

Among the said number, 300 individuals or 86 families came from Central Luzon; 36 or 11 families came from Cagayan Valley. 

The NDRRMC has launched forced evacuation in 20 barangays in Polillo; 13 barangays in Panukulan; six barangays in Patnanungan; and five barangays in Jomalig.

Moreover, preemptive evacuation was also done in 13 barangays in Burdeos, Quezon.

The NDRRMC’s report said that red alert status was declared in Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Region, and Bicol Region due to Karding. Moreover, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) were also listed under red alert status.

Meanwhile, their response and rapid deployment teams of NDRRMC have been prepared in various regions and are now on standby for possible deployment.
