Navotas will be placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from 5 a.m. of May 6 to 11:59 p.m. of May 15, Mayor Toby Tiangco announced in a Facebook post Sunday.

Tiangco said the implementation was to help citizens adapt to the “new normal,” which is the general community quarantine, expected to be implemented in the city after the ECQ ends on May 15.

Residents may only leave their homes on scheduled days per barangay, while Sundays are total lockdown days for disinfecting the public market. Pharmacies will be the only establishments open.

“Dapat sa loob ng panahong ito, napababa na natin ang bilang ng nagpopositibo sa Covid-19. Subalit magpahanggang ngayon, patuloy na dumadami ang Covid-19 positive sa ating lungsod. Karamihan sa mga pasyente ay namalengke o nag-grocery,” the mayor said.

Residents of SRV, NBBS Kaunlaran, Bangkulasi, BBS, Navotas East, Sipac-Almacen, Daanghari, Tangos North and Tanza 1 will follow a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule to go out and buy food and other necessities.

NBBS Proper, NBBS Dagat-Dagatan, NBBN, BBN, Navotas West, San Jose, San Roque, Tangos South and Tanza 2 residents will be permitted to go outside on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The city has 48 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 15 recoveries and 15 deaths as of May 3. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
