The Department of Health (DOH) reported that 3.7 million people have already received their Covid-19 vaccine after the second leg of the government’s nationwide vaccination drive.
Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje confirmed that around 1.03 million Filipinos were inoculated on Monday alone. About 3,760,132 were vaccinated from December 15 to 20.
“Ang pinakamaraming nabakunahan kahapon ay ‘yung ating mga second doses, almost one half ang ating mga second doses kahapon,” Cabotaje said at the Laging Handa briefing.
More than two million of the 3.7 million vaccinations were for second doses, over 1.1 million for the first dose, and around 289,000 for booster shots.
“In terms of the sector, marami pa rin ang ating pediatric population, sumunod ‘yung rest of the adults tapos ‘yung ibang mga priority groups ay nababakunahan din,” she said.
The Philippines aims to fully vaccinate seven million Filipinos under the second leg of the vaccination drive to meet the 54 million vaccinated people target by the end of the year. Ronald Espartinez
