The Philippines on Wednesday received more than one million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.

The 1,023,750 doses were procured by the national government with funding support from the World Bank.

The Pfizer doses arrived as the country was preparing for the inoculation of children aged five to 11, which will begin on Feb. 4.

So far, only the Pfizer vaccine has been approved by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration for kids in the age group.

The country has received a total of 216,543,270 Covid-19 vaccine doses since February 2021. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
