More doses of Chinese and Russian Covid-19 vaccines arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday.

A shipment of three million Sinovac doses arrived in the country Tuesday afternoon.

According to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez, Jr., the Sinovac doses would be delivered to provinces and used as second doses in Metro Manila.

“Karamihan ng mapupunta sa delivery sa September basically sa probinsya, sa mga diferent regions…Sa [Metro Manila], mostly binibigay natin dito mga second dose na,” he said.

On Tuesday night, 15,000 Sputnik V doses were delivered to the country.

The Russian-made vaccine shots will be used as second doses.

The Philippines has administered 33,706,295 vaccine doses as of Aug. 31.
