Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine doses procured by the government and AstraZeneca jabs donated by Japan arrived in the Philippines over the past 24 hours.

The 976,950 Pfizer doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Wednesday night.

According to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez, Jr., the bulk of the Pfizer shots will be used for the nationwide rollout of the pediatric vaccination, which will start on Nov. 3.

The first batch of Japan’s pledge of 1.96 million AstraZeneca vaccine doses arrived on Thursday.

The shipment contained 896,000 doses.

Japan in July donated 1.12 million AstraZeneca jabs to the Philippines.
