Once it shifts to general community quarantine, Metro Manila will be under Alert Level 4, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said on Tuesday.

To prevent confusion about alert levels, MMDA chairman Benhur Abalos told the public to view them like storm signal numbers.

“Kamukha ng bagyo, mayroong nagsasabi kung anong alert level. Dito, ang Department of Health po ang nagsasabi,” he said in a Palace briefing.

Under Alert Level 4, Abalos said restaurants that offer dine in and al fresco services were only permitted up to 30 percent capacity, with 10 percent allotted for fully vaccinated individuals.

The same goes for barber shops, hair spas, nail spas and beauty salons, Abalos said.

Indoor entertainment such as cinemas, live performance, karaoke bars, clubs, concert halls and theaters will remain barred.

Alert Level 4 is the second-highest alert level.

Abalos also disclosed that Metro Manila would see a shorter curfew period, which will be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
