The Philippine government has removed the restrictions on Metro Manila’s general community quarantine (GCQ) and retained the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in nine areas until July 31.
The new restrictions were decided upon by President Rodrigo Duterte and announced to the public by Palace spokesman Harry Roque on Thursday. They will take effect on Friday, July 16.

The rest of the country will be under the most lenient quarantine classification, modified GCQ.
The country has recorded 1,490,665 Covid-19 cases as of July 15. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
