The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases has decided to place Metro Manila under Alert Level 3, Malacañang said on Wednesday.
Alert Level 3 allows food and personal care establishments to operate at 30 percent capacity.
Local government units are responsible for setting mobility restrictions at alert level 3, which will only allow 30 percent of the workforce in offices.
The Octa Research Group has been pointing to a decline in the reproduction of Covid-19 in Metro Manila.
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, the capital region had a reproduction number of 0.61, the lowest since July 31.
Meanwhile, the following areas will be under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from Oct. 16 to 31:
Zamboanga del Norte
The following will be under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions:
City of Santiago
Zamboanga del Sur
Cagayan de Oro City
Davao del Norte
Davao de Oro
Surigao del Sur
Regular GCQ will be imposed in the following areas:
Davao del Sur
General Santos City
Agusan del Norte
Agusan del Sur
Surigao del Norte
Lanao del Sur
