President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is adding two appointees of President Rodrigo Duterte, Silvestre Bello and Karlo Nograles, to his government once he assumes office on June 30.

Bello, Duterte’s labor secretary, will chair the Manila Economic and Cultural Office under Marcos.

Bello had served under the Department of Justice and was former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s Cabinet secretary from 2004 to 2010.

Nograles was renominated as chairman of the Civil Service Commission weeks after being bypassed in the same designation by the Commission on Appointments earlier this month.

Nograles was concurrent cabinet secretary, acting Palace spokesman and co-chair of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.

A Davaoeño, Nograles is the executive vice president of the PDP-Laban faction backed by Duterte.
