Malacañang on Wednesday announced that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was no longer exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms five days after he yielded a positive antigen test result.
Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said in a statement that Marcos Jr. had been free from all symptoms of Covid-19 for the past two days according to the president’s personal physician.
“Dr. (Samuel) Zacate gave the happy news that on the 5th and 6th day of his isolation, the [resident is now free from all symptoms of Covid 19,” Angeles said.
Marcos Jr. has finished all his medications and is “ready to go back to his face-to-face engagements” once he completes his seven-day isolation, Angeles added.
“[I]f there is no reappearance of any sign and symptoms related to Covid-19, and provided further that he has no fever for the next 24 hours, the president can be released from isolation on Friday, July 15,” Cruz-Angeles said, citing a report by Zacate.
Marcos Jr. tested positive for Covid-19 for the first time in March 2020, then for the second time on July 8.
