President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Bienvenido Rubio as the new chief of the Bureau of Customs (BOC), Malacañang announced on Friday.

Rubio has been working for the BOC since 2001.

He was head of the BOC’s port operations service before his latest appointment.

Rubio replaced Yogi Filemon Ruiz, an anti-drug officer who was named acting BOC commissioner in July 2022.
