President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has declared Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 as a special non-working holiday, the Palace announced on Tuesday.

Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil, officer-in-charge of the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS), said in a virtual presser that the holiday’s purpose was to promote domestic tourism.

October is museums and galleries month.

“The president has already signed the proclamation declaring Oct. 31 as a special non-working holiday para na rin po mas marami po tayong time kasama ang ating pamilya at para ma-promote na rin ang ating local tourism,” Garafil said.

The special non-working holiday falls on the eve of the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

All Saints’ day is a special non-working holiday, while All Souls’ Day is a special working day. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
