Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso pledged to provide food assistance to the families of city drivers, vendors and mall employees who would test positive for Covid-19 and be required to undergo quarantine.

Pipilitin nating maibsan ‘yung mga agam-agam o pangamba na baka magutom ang inyong pamilya,” Domagoso said in a Facebook live address.

Manila City has been conducting a free testing program for public transportation drivers, public market vendors and mall employees.

Those who would test positive will be subject to a mandatory 14-day facility-based quarantine.

One sack of rice, canned goods and other grocery items will be provided to the families of the Covid-positives.

As of Wednesday, Domagoso said more than 4,000 Manileños have been tested under the program. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
