The city government of Manila will start distributing Christmas food packs to residents starting Dec. 1, its public information office (PIO) announced on Wednesday.

In a Facebook post, the Manila PIO said more than 695,000 families residing in the city would receive food packs.

Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo inspected the food boxes on Wednesday, the Manila PIO said.

Each food package contains rice, corned beef, spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce, cheese, milk and fruit cocktail.
