The city government of Manila reported Monday its first fatality due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The expired patient was a 57-year-old male from Sampaloc, the very first Manila resident confirmed to have COVID-19 infection.
He was admitted last March 9.
As of this writing, Manila has reported three cases of the deadly coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) including the expired 57-year-old male in Sampaloc.
Currently, the total cases in the country spiked to 140 while fatalities stand at 12, according to the Department of Health. (RJ Espartinez)
