City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has recently approved and signed an ordinance giving P5,000 financial assistance to contractual workers of the city government amidst the current onslaught of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
Under City Ordinance No. 8701, job order workers, contract of service workers, and workers of other similar schemes at the city government will be the recipients of the P5,000 financial assistance.
The financial assistance was given “to help ease the financial burden brought about by the economic downturn due to the Covid-19 crisis,” the ordinance stated.
This newly-inked financial assistance ordinance will be coming from the P49.805 million savings in various maintenance and other operating expenses accounts in the 2020 budget. RJ Espartinez
