A drive-thru Covid-19 testing center opened Wednesday, July 15 in front of the Andres Bonifacio Monument in Manila.

The city information office said the Manila Health Department would operate the drive-thru testing from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the Manila health office will get blood samples from those who volunteer to be tested. The samples will be processed through four newly acquired Covid-19 serology test machines from Abbott.

The machines from the American healthcare company can process about 89,600 tests monthly.

Moreno said the facility will accommodate residents and non-residents.

Those who cannot avail themselves of the drive-thru service may visit Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, Ospital ng Maynila, Ospital ng Sampaloc, or any health center.

“These (machines) have accuracy of 99.6% for specificity and 100% for sensitivity,” the mayor said.

“This is part of our continuing massive testing, including every driving Manileño who will pass by Lawton.” Jojo Mangahis
