Incumbent and outgoing Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan is trading places with his son, Caloocan 1st District Rep. Dale Malapitan in the 2022 national elections.

The father and son tandem both submitted their certificates of candidacy in Caloocan City on Wednesday.

The elder Malapitan is now on his last term as mayor of the city and is now planning to return to his old seat in the House of Representatives. He served as the city’s 1st congressional district representative from 2004 to 2013. His son, Dale, the current 1st district representative, is eyeing to replace him as mayor.
