The Makabayan bloc in the House of Representatives is set to file a resolution calling for an investigation into reports of “massive vote-buying and cheating in the just concluded elections in the country.”

In a press briefing yesterday, ACT Teachers Representative Antonio Tinio said that the reports of massive vote-buying could affect the credibility of the 2019 midterm elections.

Tinio added that the seven-hour glitch, the corrupted memory cards and the issues with the transparency servers resulted in the failure of transparency in the automated elections.

Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Isagani added that the alleged incidents of vote buying “could undermine the automated election system/electoral process, thus affecting the credibility of the election process and results.”

“We will recommend to go back to manual voting or a mixed type of electoral system just like what other countries have done so,” he said.

“Kung sino ang may hawak ng sistema na yan, sino sa kapangyarihan ay tuloy tuloy nila itong gagawin at ang lehitimong mandato ng mamamayang Pilipino ay hindi masusunod,” he added. (PacificTimes)
