A magnitude 4.5 quake hit Negros Occidental province Thursday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). 

The epicenter of the quake was 37 kilometers Northwest of Sipalay City at 2:42 p.m. Thursday, April 2. 

The depth was recorded at 8 kilometers and tectonic in origin. 

Intensity III was felt at Sipalay City, Negros Occidental while Intensity II was felt in Bago City, Negros Occidental.

No damages and aftershocks have been reported.  (RJ Espartinez)
