A magnitude 4.0 quake rocked Davao de Oro Thursday afternoon.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported the quake’s epicenter at 16 kilometers southeast of Pantukan town, Davao de Oro province.

It struck at 4:51 PM at a depth of 19 kilometers.

It was tectonic in origin.

Instrumental Intensity I was recorded at Kidapawan City.

The state seismology agency said no aftershocks and damages are expected.   Rommel F. Lopez
