The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has extended anew the validity of vehicle registrations and renewal periods to reduce the burden on motorists amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

LTO earlier set an extended deadline of Sept. 3 for motor vehicles with plate numbers ending in 6 or those scheduled for renewal in June in Metro Manila, Laguna, Cebu and Region 3.

Deadlines for plate numbers ending in 7, 8, 9 and 0 were extended to Aug. 31, Sept. 30, Oct. 31 and Nov. 30, respectively.

Asst. Secretary Edgar Galvante, the LTO chief, said: “We are continuously extending the validity and the period for renewal of registration of motor vehicles since March.

The revised schedule will help decongest LTO offices and at the same time ensure strict observance of health and safety protocols. Jojo Magahis
