The passenger limit for public utility vehicles (PUVs) will remain at 70 percent for the entire holiday season, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said.

In a memorandum circular, the LTFRB said that the 70-percent limit would be retained from Dec. 9 to Jan. 4.

The LTFRB also increased the passenger limit for PUVs in areas with at least 30-percent vaccination rates, from 50 percent to 70 percent capacity.

The passenger capacity will remain at 50 percent for other regions in the country.

The LTFRB also issued new guidelines on inter-regional routes.

For PUVs going to Metro Manila, the passenger capacity that will be observed will be that of the point of origin.

For those coming from Metro Manila, the passenger limit of the destination will be observed.

Inter-regional routes not touching Metro Manila will observe the passenger capacity of the area with the lower capacity rate between the origin and destination. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
