DAVAO CITY – A local private hospital here announced that its holding area for patients with respiratory illnesses have reached full capacity.
In a Facebook Page post Thursday, November 12, the Davao Doctors Hospital (DDH) said its “allocated holding areas for patients for admission who present with respiratory tract signs and symptoms have reached its full capacity.”
It advised patients to contact their Telemedicine numbers if any would want to talk to a physician. Virtual consultations are also made available via MedLifestyle along with its drive-thru laboratory, mobile X-ray Unit, and MedExpress Medicine Delivery for patients who do not want to go to the hospital.
Even with though its respiratory cases unit has reached full capacity, DDH said it is still open to accommodate “non-covid-related out-patient consultations, admissions, surgeries, dialysis, and cancer care procedures”.
Based on its latest data, the Southern Philippines Medical Center’s ICU is already at 90 percent capacity, while wards are at 90.73 percent occupancy.
Davao Region, the epicenter of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak in Mindanao, reported 7,058 total cases as of November 12, 2,131 of which are active cases, with 4,680 recoveries, and 247 deaths, according to the Department of Health – Davao Region
Of this total, 4,901 cases were in Davao City, 371 in Davao de Oro, 761 in Davao del Norte, 530 in Davao del Sur, 109 in Davao Occidental, and 386 in Davao Oriental.
Davao City has consistently reported high case of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) for the past days. The cityu recorded the highest numbers of new cases in a single day yesterday November 12, Thursday with 214 new cases. The city currently has 1,605 active cases. Rommel F. Lopez
