“Chicken Noodle Soup” by j-hope debuted at No. 81 in Billboard Hot100, making him the first member of BTS to chart as a solo act.

This feat also makes him the third Korean soloist to enter Hot100 after PSY and CL. The rapper-dancer also made it to the Billboard World Digital Songs Sales chart, debuting at No. 1, and the U.K. Singles Chart at No. 82.

In collaboration with Becky G., “Chicken Noodle Soup is a remake of the 2000s harlem hit by Young B (Bianca Bonnie) and DJ Webstar. The remake was released as a free single last Sept. 27 and its music video has already garnered over 67 million YouTube views as of writing. According to Nielsen Music’s data, “Chicken Noodle Soup” achieved 9.7 million streams and 11,000 downloads between Sept. 27 and Oct. 4.

“Chicken Noodle Soup” also inspired a viral dance challenge on social media as j-hope and other members of BTS — Jungkook, V and Jimin — shared their own versions on their new TikTok account. As expected of ARMYs, the BTS fan base, the challenge took off successfully on different channels, trending the hashtag #CNSChallenge.

ARMYs also trended #ThankYouBianca on Twitter after she showed her all-out support for the remake. In his vLive log, j-hope shared that Young B’s “Chicken Noodle Soup” was the first dance he learned and was greatly inspired by the song, hence the retelling of his story as a dancer with the remake.

In the usual ARMY fashion, the hashtag #CNSonHot100 soon began trending on Twitter, with tweets congratulating the artists for the success.
