Religious group Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) has endorsed the candidacies of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for president and vice president in the 2022 elections.

The endorsements were announced on Tuesday over Net 25’s “Mata ng Agila” program.

INC also endorsed the following senatorial candidates:

  • Guillermo Eleazar
  • Chiz Escudero
  • Jinggoy Estrada
  • Sherwin Gatchalian
  • Loren Legarda
  • Robin Padilla
  • Joel Villanueva
  • Mark Villar
  • Migz Zubiri

The bloc-voting religious group has 2,664,498 members as of the 2015 Philippine census.

INC also endorsed Marcos in 2016 when he was running for vice president. Marcos lost.

In the previous two elections, the group’s endorsed candidates for president won while their vice-presidential candidates lost.

Marcos and Duterte-Carpio remained the frontrunners in Pulse Asia’s latest presidential and vice-presidential survey conducted from April 16 to 21. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
