The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is set to deport an American accused of sexual exploitation of a Filipino minor.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said he had issued a mission order for the arrest of the suspect in response to the call of the US Embassy in Manila.

Michael Kent Clapper, 69, was arrested on July 6 in San Manuel, Pangasinan by the Philippine National Police, NBI’s Fugitive Search Unit and the Women and Children Protection Center.

Clapper is being held at the San Miguel police headquarters and if found to be negative from the Covid-19 swab test, will be detained at the BI Warden Facility in Bicutan, Taguig City until his deportation.

The suspect arrived as a tourist in the country on March 26, 2019, but his US passport has expired, making him an undocumented alien subject to deportation. Jojo Mangahis
