Bishop David William Antonio of the Docese of Ilagan, Isabela is “well and safe” after figuring in a vehicular accident on Monday afternoon, his diocese said.
The bishop did not sustain any injuries after his pick-up truck’s tire blew-out along the highway in Luna town at about 1:30pm, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
“Bishop David is safe now,” Fr. Ric-Zeus Angobung, the diocese’s chancellor, said in an interview with CBCPNews.
Angobung also said that Antonio’s x-ray results “did not show any alarming indication”.
“We thank all the people who manifested their concern and rendered assistance to him,” he said.
Bishop Antonio was on his way back to his residence in Gamu town after a brief meeting with Angobung in San Mateo town when the accident happened.
“The bishop is now at his residence while under observation for the next 24 hours for any physical and neurological symptoms,” he said.
“We remain ever hopeful through your continued prayers,” Angobung also said. – CBCPNews
