Higher education institutions (HEIs) in areas under Alert Level 1 are now allowed to conduct face-to-face (F2F) classes at full capacity, Malacañang announced on Friday.
Citing the latest memorandum of the country’s pandemic task force, acting Palace deputy spokesman Kris Ablan said participants of the F2F classes were required to be fully vaccinated.
“Tanging fully vaccinated teaching, non-teaching at students ang pinapayagan sa lugar, habang flexible learning modalities naman para sa unvaccinated or partially vaccinated students,” he said.
“On the determination of required programs to conduct limited F2F classes, it is in the discretion of the HEIs to choose which learning modalities should they operationalize, as long as there will be continuity of learning under any flexible learning modality subject to the condition that the HEIs may require,” he added.
The HEIs must also ensure that students participating in F2F classes have medical insurances that cover medical expenses related to Covid-19.
Ablan said student dormitories would be allowed to operate without restrictions.
Before restarting F2F classes under Alert Level 1, HEIs are required to take the self-assessment checklist as per the joint memorandum circular 004-2021 of the Commission on Higher Education and the Department of Health. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
