The country’s inter-agency task force (IATF) on Covid-19 response has allowed the resumption of face-to-face clinical internship of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, Palace spokesman Harry Roque said on Friday.
“The Philippine General Hospital will conduct this face-to-face program,” he said in a statement.
The IATF, in Resolution No. 82, said the resumption of the UP’s internships was approved as “an exception in the application of the pertinent provisions of the [country’s] omnibus guidelines.”
The IATF and the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) have yet to release guidelines on the universal resumption of internships.
In July, CHEd urged colleges and universities to reschedule internships and on-the-job training to the second semester of Academic Year 2020-2021.
