Hospicio de San Jose in Manila (Hospicio de San Jose Wikipedia page)
The Hospicio de San Jose in Manila called for donations after being placed on lockdown because of Covid-19-positive staff and elderly patients.
The Facebook page of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Santo Niño of Tondo, Manila said, the orphanage’s 14 staff and four elderly patients were found positive for coronavirus. One of the elderly patients had died.
People inside the orphanage are not allowed to leave Isla Convalecencia, and have no way of replenishing their stocks, the Facebook post said.
The institution is appealing to the public for donations, specifically food, milk, rice, fruits, and diapers for babies and elderly people.
Donations may be delivered directly to Hospicio de San Jose Orphanage near Ayala Bridge, in Quiapo, Manila. Donors may contact Sister Marcelita Catarina D.C. through 0908-865-0251, 0945-481-8930 or 87342366. Jamie Louise Jimeno
