Health Secretary Francisco Duque III has been tested for coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) disease and is now on self-quarantine, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
DOH Undersecretary Rosette Vergeire said the health chief decided to undergo a self-quarantine after a senior official of the agency tested positive for the infectious COVID-19.
As of this moment, Duque is not manifesting any symptoms related to COVID-19.
“Yes, Secretary Duque is on home quarantine but currently asymptomatic. He has already been tested for COVID-19 test as he is asthmatic and hypertensive,” Vergeire said.
