Malacañang on Thursday warned the public against scammers selling fake and unregistered Covid-19 vaccines for a hefty amount.

“Bawal po iyan. Mayroon pong ipinapataw na parusa sa kahit sinong magbebenta ng gamot o bakuna na hindi po aprubado ng FDA (Food and Drug Administration),” Palace spokesman Harry Roque said.

FDA Director General Eric Domingo earlier said the agency was monitoring a building in Makati allegedly selling Covid-19 vaccines.

Roque also took note of circulating text messages claiming a vaccine was available for P50,000.

“Mayroon pong kulong iyan, itigil ninyo po iyan,” he said.

Covid-19 vaccines Sputnik V, Sinovac and Janssen have yet to undergo clinical trials in the country.

The government expects Covid-19 vaccines to be registered under the DFA by April 2021. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
